You should already have illustrator open. if you don't, you might need to do that.
Ok. Caught up? Good here we go friends.
This is really step 1
Go to the rectangle tool. Hold it down. Get your elipse tool.
Hold shift. make a circle.
Copy the circle. Paste. (ctrl+f so it's directly on top) Hold shift and drag the second circle next to the first.
Go to window > pathfinder. It will pop up. (it's the same thing you see on my screen already.) Select both of your circles then click on the unite button.
This will unite both circles into one funky shape.
Go to your pen tool. This is where you need to show off those sitemodel cutout curving skills.
point your mouse in the center of the shape and move down. Wherever you click first will end up being the bottom of your heart. You can move it later after we're done but it's just easier to get it right the first time.
After your first click you need to move to the edge of the right circle. curve so it looks like a part of the circle.
Now click in the center of the shape. this will make half of your heart.
Now we could go through this whole process on the otherside but let's be real. We're lazy and hearts are symmetrical so click on the funky shape you just made.
Go to the reflect tool.
With your shape still selected. Hold ctrl. Click on the center point of your circles. (the cleavage of the heart basically.) A box will pop up.
HIT COPY DO NOT HIT OK HIT COPY DO NOT HIT OK HIT COPY DO NOT HIT OK
Now select all the weird shapes. And hit the unite button in your pathfinder again.
Tada you're done. Magical.
